Property Maintenance Technician

We are seeking an experienced Property Maintenance Technician – Luxury Cottages to join our team and provide comprehensive maintenance services for high-end waterfront properties throughout the Muskoka region.
This is an exciting opportunity for a true “jack of all trades” who enjoys variety, takes initiative, and understands the importance of maintaining luxury properties to the highest standards. The successful candidate will play a key role in ensuring our clients’ cottages remain safe, functional, and beautifully maintained year-round and contribute to a range of additional responsibilities to support evolving project needs.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
General Repairs & Skilled Maintenance:
- Perform general maintenance and repair tasks, including:
- Basic plumbing and electrical repairs
- Carpentry repairs such as decking, railings, stairs, minor framing, and interior finishes
- Interior and exterior painting touch-ups
- General household repairs and improvements
Cottage Systems & Equipment Support:
- Conduct routine maintenance, filter changes, and minor troubleshooting of HVAC systems.
- Troubleshoot and complete minor repairs on household appliances, including refrigerators, ovens, dishwashers, and laundry machines.
- Assist with the maintenance and troubleshooting of well systems, water filtration systems, and septic systems.
Seasonal Property Care & Preventative Maintenance:
- Complete seasonal property preparation and upkeep, including:
- Light landscaping
- Power washing
- Dock maintenance
- Outdoor structure maintenance
- Follow preventative maintenance schedules to identify and resolve potential issues before they become larger problems.
- Maintain organized inventories of tools, equipment, and commonly used replacement parts.
Client Service & Property Stewardship:
- Respond to maintenance requests and emergency situations as required, demonstrating strong judgment and problem-solving skills.
- Maintain accurate records of completed work, repairs, inspections, and service history.
- Communicate professionally with property owners and guests while respecting privacy and minimizing disruptions.
YOUR QUALIFICATIONS
- Demonstrated proficiency across multiple trades (plumbing, electrical, carpentry, general repairs) gained through hands-on experience.
- Minimum 3 years experience in property maintenance, residential construction, or a related field.
- Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving abilities with a practical, hands-on approach.
- Excellent attention to detail and a commitment to high-quality workmanship.
- Ability to work independently while prioritizing tasks effectively.
- Proactive and resourceful through anticipating needs and take initiative.
- Strong communication skills, both verbal and written.
- Professional demeanor and a high level of discretion, respecting the privacy of property owners.
- Valid G Driver’s License.
- Familiarity with smart home technologies and advanced cottage systems is a plus.
- Relevant certifications or licenses in any trade are an asset but not required
